Is It True That Drinking Mineral Water Is Better Than Regular Water?

Water is one of the essential factors for sustaining life. While plain water alone is critically important, many people today are increasingly turning to Mineral water because of its numerous beneficial properties, earning it the nickname "natural elixir of life."

How Does Mineral Water Differ from Regular Water?

However, many of you might still be wondering: how is drinking mineral water better than plain water? In truth, drinking plain water already provides sufficient benefits for the body. But mineral water is considered to contain more nutrients because it comes from nature and is rich in various minerals. Most of the time, it's water accumulated underground, such as hot springs that often emerge from natural water sources.

Mineral water contains naturally occurring minerals, untouched by artificial processes. Primarily, it contains five key minerals: calcium, sodium, magnesium, potassium, and fluoride. These minerals are all essential nutrients for the body, as some cannot be produced by the body itself.

The Diversity and Benefits of Drinking Mineral Water

However, natural mineral water is not limited to one type, as mineral water varies depending on its source. Some mineral waters may have different mineral concentrations, for example, some might be high in calcium and low in potassium. Or in terms of taste, some might taste salty due to a higher sodium content than other minerals. This is why drinking mineral water from different sources results in different tastes.

At this point, many of you might have a better understanding of how mineral water is better than plain water. But even though mineral water contains more minerals than plain water, the types of minerals found in mineral water are not different from those found in common foods. Therefore, drinking mineral water might be to supplement specific minerals for those who need high amounts of certain minerals, or to replace some foods containing desired minerals that you dislike eating. This is because mineral water is one of the easiest sources of minerals to find, and its taste differs only slightly from ordinary plain water.

Ultimately, mineral water is another option to supplement the nutrients your body needs. If you wish to drink mineral water instead of plain water, various brands are currently available, each with different mineral compositions depending on their water source.
